The ski resorts Dachstein West (Gosau - Russbach - Annaberg) and Krippenstein are within quick and easy reach of Hallstatt. If you don't want to drive yourself, dedicated ski-busses will bring you to the cable car stations in Obertraun or Gosau. These busses run very frequently. This gives you the chance to plan your day on the slopes to your liking - as long or as short as you wish.

If you prefer cross-country skiing then try the trails/runs in Gosau or Bad Mitterndorf. The cross-country runs are very well maintained and offer levels for beginners and professionals.
